kids not welling to go to school ? wat to do ?

my kid is 2 yrs 11 months and just started K1 lately...he was studing in the same kindagarten for N1 since Feb this year. But every morning before going to school, he just keep on crying and not welling to go to school...this has been happened since Feb 2009...its seems that he is not happy with going to school...I ask him why, but never get a answer and start crying...everytime i talk about school, teachers, classmates, he seems upset...i talked to his N1 teacher and the teachers said he is doing fine at school. I am abit confused with why he is so upset with school. I think the teachers are v nice and encouraging to the kids...should i change another kinda for him since he has been not happy with the school from Feb ?
Hi. Might I ask:

1) Did your kid feel happy to go to school before Feb 2009? (For example, Did he have a new brother/ sister or any change of environment for him in this period? )
2) Is your kid close to his classmates? Any bullying?
3) You said, “N1 teacher and the teachers said he is doing fine at school”. So……Based on the observation of the teachers, does he feel happy during the lessons?

I'm thinking about the reason of the incident, too. Have you tried asking him the reason when he felt happy (during the dinner, after playing games, etc). If not, I suggest you trying it !!
I suggest you go to school with him and see him how to play in the class. Don't let him know you is outside the classroom. If he is happy, you don't worry because he don't want to leave you. He just is affraid you leave. He don't like the feeling of segregation.

Berry suggestion is great!

If what Berry said was true, I would like to ask whether he had such "habit" when he was a N1 student. If not, one further question has to be considered: why did he need such "attachment need" after Feb 2009? (Have a new brother/ sister? Any environmental change in this period? Or other reason?)
I agreed Berry's suggestion.
Did you go to school and talk to his teachers?
They may tell you something you may not know.
Dear all, thank you so much...your suggestion is v helpful...

Before N1, my son went to playgroup at the same school and he enjoyed it v much...its just starting N1, going to school by himself, he was upset...I have talked to both K1 and N1 teachers, they all said he is OK at school. If he doesn't see me, he will stop crying immediately...that is what the teachers said. I guess as what Berry said, he doesn't like the feeling of segregation from his family.

I asked him why he doesn't like to go to school, he just cried. And then, I asked if it is because he wanted me to go to school together with him, and he said yes...

I suppose I should go to see how he is doing during class in secret...which not letting him know...if he is happy during class, then i know the problem "doesn't want to go to school" is because of me which he doesn't want to leave me...

Once again, thank you guys...
That’s great! See if the incident is caused by segregation anxiety.

If it’s really the case, I will suggest your acceptance of his feeling first. It doesn’t mean that you don’t leave him. Instead, you may tell him, “Mum understands you don’t want to leave me. But every child should go to school. Remember yesterday, Mum were with you immediately after school, right? It will be the same today. Don’t worry.”

When you chat with the kid, please inhibit your emotion and keep your emotion as calm as possible so that your son’s amygdala (an organ in the brain which is responsible for emotion) will not be stimulated.

Of course, your son will still cry after your word. Just let him cry, he will be better and better ~~
