乜依家D小學係咁架咩!

各位好! JACKO SIR好!

由於小兒正讀K2, 所以已努力留意小學, 起初, 一鼓作氣, 只留意名校, 但當一直細問下......名氣大的學校....

通常會1年級就教2-3年級的課程, ..... 下, 即是5-6歲學7-8歲的東西, 不是太可怕了, 而且, 一句到尾....靠家長搵補習老師攪掂!
這是學習嗎? 還是我太天真?

仲有.....一直有留意英X男校, 但今年有人話.....只收大仔, 細仔冇望, 而且, 面試題目也很深......
請問JACKO SIR 或其他媽媽知唔知大仔之說是否屬實.......如是, 我地D 細仔可能連報也不用了。

最後, 請大家給我意見, 有邊D你地認識的學校(直資, 私校, 津貼, 官立)不是1年級就教3年級的課程, 而且最緊要是校風, 而校長及老師又真是有愛心, 有教心呢?

(1) what you say about 名校, about those super famous schools liks DXS, St P Co-ed, GH, etc. all teach at least one year higher in certain subjects, especially English. These DSS want to stay ahead of the game and therefore would need the kids to do that so that their public exam results would look good, IN ADDITION TO being good at extra curricular activities. Some kids can do, but some cannot and it's a big pressure for you and your family. If you frankly look for good teachers and reasonable curriculum, you may look for other good but not so-top schools. From what I heard in other forums, 真道﹐ 播道 are good and very popular. But they are still competitive. But of course, they are not comparable to those super famous schools lor. It depends on what you look for.

(2) YW this year also accept kids for 2nd in for those born after October as far as I know.

I would suggest you watch these two videos (don't miss out Part 2 or you would miss the whole picture. if you only watch part I, you would go crazy). It talks about the impact of DSS on family and the kids.

My kid is in K3 now. I have avoided all types of interviews. Similar to you, I started to look at the more famous schools a few years ago but ultimately decided against going even the interviews because I think they misunderstood primary education nowadays. If you have the money, try International schools or private schools.
