I agreed the education system in HK is totally failed. But, sometimes, it is the choice of the parent. For my sister's daughter, when she studied in MMT, she only spent 1-2 hours to finish the homework. She had a lot of time to read books and play games. But after she changed to DGS which is a very popular school, she needs to do homework 4-6 hours till midnight every day. This is her parent choice. They are proud of studing in this school. For most of you, I think you also think like that because the student from that school is very smart. If you don't want your kid to have so many homework, you can choose another school like band 3 or IB or international. There are a lot of choices. For me, my son is in K1, I also think about which primary school is suitable for him. Homework is one of the factors I considered. The main point is that the bad education system is a fact. We cannot change. But we should try our best to choose what we want for our child. |
