I agree with the two parents but I agree with the author as well. Money is a major issue. While I am one of those few lucky ones that can afford to let my children to go to a private school, I don't think I am richer than most families. The reason is that I have evaluated the cost of education: my kids can't go to art classes; they can't go to soccer/sports classes; they can't go to English/Math/Mandarin tutorial classes; they can't have elaborate birthday parties; they can't have expensive gifts. Because all those cost money. I have decided to let them go to a school that allows them to think freely, to be able to spend time reading books (any books), and to play creatively. All those activities are what I value. So maybe my cost of school education for my kids is high, but the overall budget including other activities maybe the same as most other parents.
